In vitro activity of ibrexafungerp and comparators against Candida albicans genotypes from vaginal samples and blood cultures

ObjectivesEmergence of azole resistance may contribute to recurrences vulvovaginal candidiasis. Thus, new drugs are needed improve the therapeutic options. We studied in vitro activity ibrexafungerp and comparators against Candida albicans isolates from vaginal samples blood cultures. Furthermore, were genotyped study compartmentalization genotypes relationship between genotype antifungal susceptibility.MethodsCandida unique patient (n = 144) patients with clinical suspicion candidiasis 72 isolates) candidaemia 72) studied. Antifungal susceptibility amphotericin B, fluconazole, voriconazole, posaconazole, isavuconazole, clotrimazole, miconazole, micafungin, anidulafungin was tested (EUCAST 7.3.2). Mutations erg11 gene analysed genotyped.ResultsIbrexafungerp showed high (MICs 0.03 mg/L 0.25 mg/L) isolates, including those reduced susceptibility, regardless their source. Fluconazole rate 7% 5/72) 1.4% 1/72) respectively. Some amino acid substitutions Erg11 protein observed exclusively phenotypically fluconazole non-wild type. Population structure analysis suggested two populations, one mostly involving (66.3%) (69.8%). The latter group hosted all non-wild-type isolates.DiscussionIbrexafungerp shows good isolates. we found a certain population where some show fluconazole.
